Inspection data security for drawings, images and part data

Drawings, part photos, CT volumes and asset details are often confidential, and some fall under customer agreements or export rules. IndustrialImaging is built so that you decide who sees them and when. This page explains what we store, who can access it and how you remove it.

1. Your drawings go only to providers you approve

When you send a request for quote, matched providers first see the scope needed to decide whether they can do the job: method, material, part size range, quantity, region and timing. Drawings, CAD files, photos and identifying details are shared only with providers you approve after matching. Nobody browses your files, and providers who are not matched never see the request.

  • Scope summary goes to matched providers.
  • Files and identifying details go only to the providers you approve.
  • You can withdraw a request, and providers you did not approve never get the files.

Keep images private until an NDA is in place

For sensitive parts, mark files as private in the RFQ. They stay hidden from every provider until you confirm that an NDA with that provider is signed, and you can attach your own NDA so providers see the requirement before they reply. The NDA is an agreement between you and the provider; IndustrialImaging is not a party to it.

2. How inspection data is protected

  • Encryption in transit: every page and file transfer uses HTTPS with current TLS.
  • Encryption at rest: uploaded files and the database are stored encrypted.
  • Access per account: each buyer and each provider sees only their own requests, replies and files; team members see what their account role allows.
  • Staff access is limited to support and security needs and is logged.
  • Signup requires a confirmed email address before any request is sent.

3. Data retention and deletion on request

We keep requests and files while your account is active so you can reuse an RFQ or check a past quote. You can delete a single request or file from your account at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and all related data by writing to [email protected]. We remove the data from active systems within 30 days of the request and from backups as they roll over, and we keep only what the law requires us to keep, such as billing records of providers. Note that files already sent to a provider you approved are also held by that provider under your agreement with them.

4. Essential cookies only, no selling of data

The site uses only essential cookies, for signing in, security and remembering your settings. We do not use advertising trackers. We do not sell personal data or inspection data, and we do not use your drawings or images to build public content.

Service providers we rely on

We use a small number of service providers to run the platform: a hosting provider, a payment processor for provider subscriptions, an email delivery provider and an AI model provider that powers the method advisor. They process data only to deliver their part of the service. Text and images you submit to the method advisor are processed to produce your recommendation and are not offered by us for training of public models.

5. What we do not claim

We do not claim certifications we do not hold. IndustrialImaging is not SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified. If your program requires a specific security review, export control handling (such as ITAR controlled technical data) or a signed data agreement, state that in the RFQ and keep controlled files off the platform; share them directly with the provider through your own approved channel.

6. Report a security concern

If you believe you found a security issue, email [email protected] with a description and steps to reproduce. We review every report and reply with what we are doing about it. For how we handle personal data in general, see the privacy policy, and for how requests move to providers, see how to get NDT quotes.
